Myth: You can be fined for driving poorly

A black box tracks how you drive in order to ensure that you are not a danger to the road. Whilst you cannot be issued with a fine of any kind for driving poorly, most insurance companies will give drivers three warnings when they are found committing dangerous offences and after these have been used, the policy is often cancelled.

Myth: Black box insurance is just as expensive

For some users, black box insurances doesn’t reduce the price very much which can make it seem like a con. It is important to remember that this type of insurance was made with young and newly qualified drivers in mind so these are the clients who will see the most benefit. After all, it can reduce a quote from £10,000 down to £1,500!

Myth: It is only for young drivers

Although black box insurance was intended for young drivers, it is open to everybody, including drivers who have committed offences in the past and older drivers. After all, it can be hard to find affordable insurance when you have been found guilty of speeding so allowing the black box to track your driving style is a small price to pay in return for affordable insurance!
